Cyber - physical systems and smart cities
نویسنده
چکیده
Smart devices are becoming more sophisticated with increased capabilities while they remain a relatively low-cost technology. Also, many of these smart devices rely on the prevalence of highspeed wireless networks, including 4G cellular networks. With the Internet of Things, every object can retrieve information from the environment and then manage and share that information with other devices or users.

Digital City, Smart City and Beyond
This article revisited past digital cities, and discussed smart cities and the future. If we understand digital cities as exploration of cyber space and smart cities as exploitation of physical space, the next stage is to evolve networked society based on cyber physical systems. The current movements suggest two different directions, socialization of commerce and commercialization of society. W...

The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Cyber and Infrastructure Analysis (DHS/OCIA) produces Infrastructure Risk Assessments to provide an assessment of emerging risks to critical infrastructure. As technology pervades into our everyday lives, once simple devices have become smarter and more interconnected to the world around us. This technology is transforming our cities into what are...
متن کاملCPSSC - 1st International Workshop on Cyber-Physical Systems in the Context of Smart Cities
The interconnection and exchange of information is a basic requirement to enable Smart Cities. Such an interconnection must be realized within each domain (vertically) as well as among different domains (horizontally). Typical domains cover energy, automotive, health, intelligent buildings, transportation, manufacturing as well as the military domain. Therefore, horizontal and vertical informat...

متن کاملA Methodology for Unified Assessment of Physical and Geographical Dependencies of Wide Area Measurement Systems in Smart Grids
Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS) enable real time monitoring and control of smart grids by combining digital measurement devices, communication and control systems. As WAMS consist of various infrastructures, they imply complex dependencies among their underlying systems and components of different types, such as cyber, physical and geographical dependencies. Although several works exist in...
